The town has witnessed significant milestones, including the opening of two Post Offices—Pleasant Creek in 1857 and Quartz Reef in 1859—before officially adopting the name Stawell. In 1869, Stawell proudly became a borough, and its rich gold-mining heritage was reignited in 1981, drawing history enthusiasts and treasure hunters alike.
