Newsletter 93- May 5th 2023
Prayer of the Week:
Loving Father,
Thank you to all who are part of our school. Please grant them your encouragement, wisdom and peace.
Strengthen our community. May they be kind, patient and nurturing. May they support each other, helping with struggles and motivating all to be their best.
Comfort and restore those living under shadows of unhappiness. May many find faith discovering their identity in You and knowing Your amazing grace in their lives.
Please pour out Your blessings upon our whole school community. In Jesus name. Amen
Principal's Report:
Welcome
We are now back into the swing of things with a new school term underway. Term Two will be a short but busy term with a number of special events taking place. We have already celebrated the miracle of Easter as a school community and acknowledged ANZAC Day. Our School Captains and Vice Captains did a great job representing the school at the wreath laying service at the Cenotaph on ANZAC Day.
This week takes on a sporting note, with the school being represented at the Black Ranges Cross Country event at St Arnaud on Thursday and then on Friday the whole school will be at North Park for the Athletics Carnival. Good luck to everyone competing and fingers crossed the weather is kind to us!
Looking forward to the rest of the term we have a number of special events and occasions including Mother’s Day, Catholic Education Week, Winter Sports, and Reconciliation Week. Many people including staff, parents, and volunteers play a key role in ensuring these events run smoothly. I would like to thank all involved in advance.
2024 Enrolments
We have now confirmed our first 2024 Foundation information session and school tour which will be on Tuesday, May 30th at 9 am. If you have a child who will be starting school next year or know someone who has please contact the front office.
Aird’s Baptism
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being present for the Baptism of Peter, Georgia and William Aird at the St Francis of Assisi Church in Landsborough. It was a wonderful occasion for both the family and the parish of Landborough.

Living in Faith:
Why do we at St Patrick’s raise money for the poor?
Catholic schools participate in the Church’s mission “to bring the Good News to the poor” (Luke 4:18). In partnership with parents, parishes and other agencies within the Church and the broader community, Catholic schools are called to give witness to a faith which does justice with love. All have a responsibility to read the signs of the times and to respond with love and compassion, ever seeking to protect human dignity and serve the common good. The Catholic Church teaches that the poor represent those who are marginalised in society. Jesus himself taught the importance of helping those who are poor and in need of help.
Thankyou to all those who supported our Project Compassion Lenten fundraising efforts. Please find below an excerpt from Caritas Australia:
“I want to thank everybody who has been a part of this year’s Project Compassion – whether you’ve put spare change in a donation box at church, or you’ve set up a fundraiser at your parish or school, you have done your part to make the world a better place. Your kindness and generosity will help us to reach some of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities to face the challenges of poverty. I can’t think of a better way to live out the spirit of Lent than that.”
“Your kindness and generosity will help us to reach some of the most marginalised and vulnerable communities to face the challenges of poverty.” Caritas Australia’s CEO Kirsty Robertson said.
